Brand Photography for a New Online Presence, Positions Dennis Devlin for His “Best Year Yet!”
Dennis Devlin is the founder of CLARITY Research & Insights, a marketing and branding research and strategy firm focused on helping clients better understand their customers, competitors and their company.
While much of Dennis’ work happens behind the scenes, clients quickly realize his work is a catalyst for growth — based not on intuition, but insight.

The Challenge
Prior to hiring WorkLife Studios, Dennis underwent an intensive rebrand (including a new name, fresh color palette, and updated messaging) to better communicate his work as a marketing research strategist.
Bringing more of his own personality into the brand then became the focus — by creating images that reflected his role as a strategic partner, subject-matter expert, and best-selling author.
As a marketing research strategist, Dennis’s work lives behind the scenes — and translating that quiet, analytical strength into dynamic visuals could be tricky. He needed imagery that reflected his role as a trusted advisor and thought partner while still feeling warm, approachable, and distinctly Dennis.
At the same time, Dennis was thinking bigger: how could this photography investment not only support his current marketing materials but also inspire the next evolution of his online presence?
The Moment
Dennis had already done the hard work of clarifying his brand. Now he needed to make it feel human.
We focused on capturing Dennis at his best: his command of a strategy session, his warm personality in 1:1 meetings, and his quiet strength behind the scenes.
Interspersed throughout the images are nods to his best-selling book Three Wise Monkeys and his after-hours improv comedy practice. As a self-professed minimalist, Dennis requested that the images feel uncluttered and intentional. It was the visual embodiment of his company’s name: clarity.
Dennis’ goal was simple, but powerful: to humanize his brand and showcase both sides of his expertise — the strategic thinker and the person behind the insights.

The Process
Together, WorkLife Studios took a strategic, story-first approach, which aligned perfectly with Dennis’ own values.
Using the WorkLife Studios Brand Questionnaire, we identified key facets of his brand personality and created a visual roadmap to tell that story. We planned scenes that illustrated his professional expertise (like leading a strategy session) and his personal side (like a big, bold “Yes, and” poster and subtle nods to his improv comedy background and best-selling book, Three Wise Monkeys).
We photographed in three locations, including the office of longtime partner Madison Design, where team members joined as stand-in clients during a mock strategy session. This collaboration added authenticity and confidence to the session — and reflected the relational nature of Dennis’s work.
The Transformation
Dennis had a new name, logo, and message, but his online presence still wasn't telling the whole story. Generic imagery left potential clients with little sense of the person and personality behind CLARITY.
The new photography changed that. For the first time, Dennis had a collection of images that reflected both his expertise and the person behind it — giving him the confidence to show up online in a way that felt distinctly his own.
The updated gallery inspired the launch of an entirely new website and, later, a collaboration with WorkLife Studios to craft a signature editorial profile — a custom-written piece worthy of placement in a leading business publication.
