From a dated, disconnected website to an authentic, human online presence that reflects 30+ years of client care
Ritter & Randolph is a small Cincinnati-based law firm with deep community roots and a long-standing reputation for compassion. Their work spans business law, estate planning, elder care, guardianships, and real estate — often walking alongside clients during some of life’s most difficult transitions.
For more than three decades, the firm has been known not for polish or prestige, but for empathy, trust, and deeply personal client relationships.

The Challenge
Despite their strong reputation, Ritter & Randolph’s website told a very different story.
The site was dated, generic, and confusing. While it highlighted charitable involvement, it missed the heart of the firm: the people, the relationships, and the care that defined their work. There was little sense of warmth, humanity, or what it actually felt like to work with the team.
Like many small firms, Ritter & Randolph didn’t have an internal marketing lead. They began with a brand photoshoot: a low-lift way to refresh their presence — but unfortunately, months later, the images sat unused. Without a proactive project lead, momentum stalled and the story remained.
Ritter & Randolph weren’t lacking effort or intention, only direction and partnership.
The Moment
In early 2024, Ritter & Randolph joined the beta round of The Connection Catalyst, WorkLife Studios’ guided process for uncovering the story behind a business and translating it into messaging, photography, and a digital presence that reflects who they really are.
Through discovery interviews and conversations, one truth quickly emerged: the heart of the firm was in how they cared for people.
For more than 30 years, the firm’s leaders have walked clients through aging, illness, loss, and transition — often meeting them where they are, literally and figuratively. They practice law in a way that is grounded, real, and deeply human.
One partner described it:
“We don’t come off stuffy. We’re willing to go and see them. We have what I call a ‘sweater practice.’ It puts people at ease.”
That phrase became the project’s North Star.

The Process
WorkLife Studios took a story-first, strategy-supported approach to bring Ritter & Randolph’s humanity to the forefront:
- Discovery Interviews to uncover culture, values, and differentiators
- Brand Voice and Copywriting rooted in warmth, clarity, and empathy
- Photography across two sessions: one in 2023 and a follow-up in 2025 after the firm’s office move (capturing both continuity and renewal)
- Project Management and Web Collaboration, partnering with CreateIT Web Designs to bring the story to life on a new WordPress site
WorkLife Studios co-directed the web build to maintain momentum and protect the integrity of the story from discovery through launch. Once complete, management was transitioned to the firm’s developer, giving the team a sustainable system they could confidently maintain.
The Transformation
Ritter & Randolph had spent more than 30 years building trust one relationship at a time. Their new website needed to make that reputation visible — while helping the next generation of attorneys begin carrying it forward.
The result was:
- A modern, story-driven website centered on empathy and trust
- Integrated photography that reflects warmth and approachability
- A guided, full-service process from discovery through launch
- Increased visibility for younger attorneys and next-generation leaders
- Deeply human storytelling that mirrors the firm’s real-life experience
The website now feels less like a formality — and more like home.

The Results
- A fully redesigned website that reflects 30+ years of client care
- Clear, compassionate messaging that resonates with real people
- A renewed sense of pride and ownership across the team
- A platform that supports leadership transition and trust transfer

The site launch coincided with the firm’s move to a new office, marking both a literal and symbolic fresh chapter.

The Takeaway
Ritter & Randolph didn't need us to invent a warmer, more human version of their firm. It was already there — in the way they showed up for clients, the relationships they'd built over decades, and even in a seemingly small phrase: sweater practice.
Our job was to notice it, understand why it mattered, and help more people see it.
Because sometimes the clearest expression of a business isn't a tagline. It's a moment, a phrase, or a story that has been there all along.
If your business has evolved but your website no longer reflects the reputation you've built, we'd love to start with a conversation.
